Dual audit trail compliance

Combination of accounting trail (journal entries) and technical trail (access and change logs) that lets you reconstruct both the "what" and the "who and when".

Definition

Detail

The accounting audit trail answers "what moved this balance?" — and the answer is journal entries. But a modern auditor also asks "who accessed this customer record and when?" or "who approved this invoice and from what device?". The technical trail answers that: immutable logs of system events (login, read of sensitive data, configuration change, transaction approval) stored in a separate ledger, ideally in different storage. Dual audit trail is what distinguishes an enterprise ERP from a departmental one. In cifraHQ Enterprise both live together but independently: erasing one does not erase the other.
